Dental Technologies Offer Lasting Benefits for Patients

In the field of dentistry, new technology is constantly evolving and has changed the way diseases are diagnosed. Dental technology advancements have updated the way routine procedures are performed, and illnesses are prevented. Although they may seem unfamiliar at first, modern dental technologies offer lasting benefits for patients.

TECHNOLOGY

From Impression Molds to Digital Imaging

Many dental patients share the experience of biting down on a tray of putty-like material to prepare for creating a model of your teeth. Digital imaging devices have made that completely unnecessary! Instead, your teeth can be lightly dusted with a fine reflective powder that is recorded by a special camera. The series of images is then converted into a 3D model that your Dentist can use to assess a tooth’s condition or develop dental restorations.

Technology We Offer

Modern dental technology is used to make the dentures, crowns, bridges and dental braces that keep your teeth vibrant and functional.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are today’s preferred method of replacing teeth. Dental implants are small titanium posts that replace the root structure of the missing tooth. A realistic dental crown is attached to the implant, providing a replacement tooth that looks and feels exactly like your natural teeth.

CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) Scans

Dental Cone Beam Computed Tomography is an x-ray machine that is used when standard dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient. It generates three dimensional images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths and bone to allow for more precise treatment planning.

Low Radiation Digital X-Rays

The advancement of digital technology has made dental x-rays safer and even more useful today. Modern digital technology reduces radiation exposure to patients by as much as 90% in comparison to traditional x-rays, and produces sharper images that can be enhanced for detailed evaluation.

Intra-Oral Camera

Intra-oral cameras can help you understand your dental examination, diagnosis and treatment. Through these tiny cameras, you can see what the dentist sees. Your view is displayed on a small chair-side monitor. The images of your teeth can be saved as stills, video, or any printed format so that you can see exactly what’s happening in your mouth.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide, often called “laughing gas,” is a safe and effective method of administering conscious sedation – allowing you to stay awake during the procedure. When nitrous oxide is used in combination with a local anesthetic, it nearly eliminates feelings of pain or anxiety. Your bodily functions perform normally during the administration of nitrous oxide, and the effects wear off quickly.
